I was planning on posting a different message when God spoke to me Sunday morning and reminded of Valentine \u2019s Day. With Valentine \u2019s Day just a day away, He reminded me that He is our greatest love. He created us in order to love us.<\/p>\n
Ephesians 1:4 MSG<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cLong before He laid down earth\u2019s foundations, He had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of His love, to be made whole and holy by His love.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n His love for us is unconditional. God\u2019s love for us is not determined by what we do or what we don\u2019t do. It\u2019s not about us, it\u2019s about Him. We can\u2019t earn His love. He loves us because He does! It\u2019s that simple yet we make it difficult to believe. We make it about our ability to please Him. We try to earn His love by the things we do. We will never be perfect or do everything perfectly. When we fail, we think we are unworthy of His love. We think God\u2019s love for us is conditional—based on our performance.<\/p>\n We can do nothing to change God\u2019s love for us.<\/p>\n Romans 8:38-39<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cFor I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Do you struggle with knowing and believing God loves you? If you do, you are not alone. Many believer\u2019s struggle with that truth. I have been a Christian for 40 years and it wasn\u2019t until just about 6 years ago that I began to believe, truly believe, just how much God loves me. I knew it in word only because I had heard it spoken to me, but I didn\u2019t believe it in my heart. Once I got it, WOW, my life changed. I know longer doubt my Fathers love. Even in my rebellion, He loves me well. When I mess up, He loves me. When I am disobedient, He loves me. That is amazing love!<\/p>\n When you accept Jesus as your Savior, the lies you believe just don\u2019t fade away. It takes an exercise of faith, prayer, and reading God\u2019s word of truth to begin believing that God loves you. For some of us, like myself, it takes a while to truly believe it. We buy into the lies. Those lies make their home in our minds and get comfortable there. Those lies take root–they are deep roots that need to be yanked out with the help of Holy Spirit. Our enemy, satan, tries his best to make sure we keep believing those lies. The only way to combat those lies is with truth! God\u2019s truth!<\/p>\n If you need proof that God loves you, you need only to look to the facts. God sent His son to die on the cross for you. He paid the ransom for your sin so that you could spend eternity with Him in heaven. That is love!<\/p>\n 1 John 15:13<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cGreater love has no one than this, than to lay down one\u2019s life for his friends.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n John 3:16<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cFor God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Tomorrow is Valentine\u2019s Day; remember the lover of your soul loves you the most! You are not alone.
